It’s my standard bag in bag situation.
A slow grow, but I really love the classic simplicity of this hat, it has a clever trick and a bit of whipstitching to get the perfect hold the fold, triple thick brim.
By all accounts, it appears I like to knit hats that look like ready-made hats.
(I had a hat like this as a kid, it was white with a light purple brim, a huge white and purple pom pom on top and an E.T. patch on the band 💕)

Yarn: I used one strand Dk weight wool (pattern suggests fingering weight held double)
I’ve hoarded crazy sock yarn since the beginning of my knit life, never once thinking I would ever actually knit socks with it.

Pattern: A vanilla version of Collina Socks by Jenn Emerson.
Yarn: Spun Right Round Sperwash Sock 80/20, color way Picnic.
Flash of pink inside, that peeks out just ever so slightly. Worked first (30) of brim in hot pink, including the purl round for the turn, then switched to main body color and worked as written.
